Fuji Xerox launches top-of-the-class colour laser printer
DocuPrint C2428 makes colour affordable for high-performance, high-volume office production

Hong Kong, February 2004 — Fuji Xerox Printers Hong Kong has launched the new high-speed colour laser printer that outputs black & white and colour documents at a rate of 24 pages per minute (ppm) at a resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dots per inch (dpi).

Aimed at general office users especially banking and financial services, the DocuPrint C2428 is possessed of many new features that save time and money such as oil-less EA toner that delivers high-quality printing on all media types, direct printing from digital cameras and PDF files without using a PC, and the newly developed power management device that reduce the maximum power consumption. The DocuPrint C2428 colour laser printer is designed to help users to increasing the productivity and enjoy high quality prints and value at the same time.

The DoucPrint C2428 has the high print speed in its class, it comes with a 350 MHz Power PC 603e in its CPU and uses a high-speed 32 bits/66 MHz PCI bus, allowing a large volume of data processing. The three print modes; Normal or High mode can produce multi-level prints with excellent gradation at a resolution of 9600dpi x 600dpi. In the Superfine mode, it delivers sharp high-definition prints at 24ppm at a resolution of 1200dpi x 1200dpi.

The oil-free EA toner enhances the clarity of monochrome characters in office documents and reduces glossiness of photos and graphics, achieving vivid and natural colour imaging. The oil-free fusing technology enables user to annotate documents with a ballpoint pen, apply a stamp, or put a Post-it. Quality prints can also be made on recycled paper.

By installing an optional media print kit, image data recorded with a digital camera or a document file via compact flash card or memory stick can be printed directly without using a PC. With the versatility of digital camera images printed in an index format or with images selected. A PDF file selected from the files stored in the media can be printed with a number of copies and print mode specified. PDF files in a laptop can be printed directly without installing any printer driver.

In addition to the innovative features, the newly developed power management device has reduced maximum power consumption especially at the sleep mode, the power consumption can even be reduced down to 4W. The warm-up time from power-on or sleep mode is less than 30 seconds, and users can also select the quick mode to cut the warm-up time further to less than 20 seconds. These advance technologies of the DocuPrint C2428 translates to benefits such as energy saving, running cost and time reduction etc..

The DocuPrint C2428 comes with two types of toner cartridges: a standard and large capacity cartridge that can print 15,000 pages in monochrome and 12,000 pages in colour. This helps to reduce maintenance and running costs.

The DocuPrint C2428 is now available through authorized dealers and authorized resellers at a recommended street price starting from HK$28,888.00 with one year on-site warranty.
